As of 2012 it was rated the television with the absolute best picture quality and one look at this sleek plasma, and you’ll understand why. Here you will enjoy the crispest pictures and the deepest blacks money can buy. Priced at only $2,500 it would be a steal as far as a 4K TV price range would go, if it were one.

If plasma isn’t for you, perhaps you’d enjoy the sleekness that only an LED-LCD television can provide. If this is the case, you can’t go wrong with the Sony XBR-HX950 series. This super thin LED TV is packed with features and is a must have for anyone who wants the latest gadgets and functionality in their televisions. Costing around $3200, it is a little on the pricey side, but can you really put a price on beauty?

The televisions mentioned above are just a few examples of what the old HD models sell for as compared to the newer 4K models.

The Future 4K TV Decrease In Expense:

Of course 4K will be slightly more expensive than the above HDTV models; especially in the early days.  Let’s face it, you’ll getting 4 times the pictures and clarity with the 4k TVs.

But, over the next few years you should expect to see the overall 4K TV price range fall down to acceptable levels, as you will with all new technology.
